Im into singing. Should I try to find some help?

I want to get better at singing. I like pop music and stuff like that. I dont want to join an Acapello or any Classical singing like opera or anything like that. I dont think majoring in music is an option as Im already majoring in Bio and it takes a bunch of my time. Plus probably gonna minor in Piano. And I have no actual singing experience (no performing/vocal coach). What should I do? A club?

I don’t think you need help. Singing is a very normal activity. In fact, I know many people that sing. For example, my mom sings and so does my older sister. But it is not their profession they just sing in church. My sister said that one time, she met Fantasia. I don’t know whether to believe her though. I myself like to sing in the shower sometimes. You are okay. Just make sure you don’t get addicted to drugs or abusive relationships.

Well, I want to get better. I want someone experienced and who knows what he/she is doing to teach me

music majors at various universities are usually willing to give lessons at very reasonable rates

Register for a Voice class for Spring 2011. It’s probably a 1 credit class.

^so i dont have to be a music major or anything for that? anyone can take?

It should be open to anyone. Well, I suppose it depends on your school, but I think it’s very common for non-music majors to take some music classes.

You should join an acapella group! I wish I had the voice to audition for the group on my campus. It looks pretty fun! But I guess it’s not everyone’s cup of tea :)

But yes, you should look to take a class that is opened to anyone. I’m sure your school will have something for non-majors like nysmile stated.
