do you need a car?

If I end up attending NYU next fall, should I bring my car?

Into NYC? No! :p

could i possibly survive without my car for four years?

Seriously? Dude many people who live in NYC don’t even own cars. It will cost you an absolute FORTUNE to keep it parked, and you won’t use it at all.

This might be the winner for the most ignorant stupid asked on the NYU CC board lol

No, the gun one was worse.

I don’t know. It might be difficult for someone new to the city to realize or accept that it’s not an unsafe place, but anyone with an iota of intelligence should be able to understand that there is absolutely no reason to have a car, especially if you live in the city, and double especially (?) if you are going to college.

OP: Yeah, you’ll survive :rolleyes:

…have you even visited NYU?

haha you guys are being brutal, although the OP should be ready for that brutality if he/she will be attending NYU :wink: No, you shouldn’t bring your car.

There’s no place to park it near your dorm, there’s no place to affordably park it anywhere you’d go in the city, and it would take forever to get there compared to the trains (well, okay, walking will be faster in some cases).

I’ve only ever heard one thing about parking in the city:

“Some people pay more for their parking than they do for their rent”.

That pretty much ended any tiny interest I had in looking any further.

@flying

we’re not brutal, we’re New Yorkers.

Yeah, it’s not brutality, it’s honesty.
