Just wondering how the water is in the apartments and dorms. I heard the water is really bad in ft, but what about the other dorms and nearby apartments? Do you need a water filter? If so, what type is good? Will one of the pitcher filters be fine?

My daughters used the Brita filter/pitcher in the dorm and later in their apartment. You can go to Costco and pick up a filter system and then by a pack of 6 filters that would last you a long time.

You don’t need a filter. You can always bring a bottle, take it into the commons when you eat and fill it up. However, I find it convenient to have a filter. One of the pitcher filters is best. Note the water filters you attach to the sink won’t fit, as far as I know.

the water in socal tastes like *****, so i will prob have a filter of some sort. but you dont NEED one

my whole first year was drinking out of a water jug, which was refilled using the dorm’s water fountain. i can say that it didnt taste good but i lived with it fine.

I’m bringing one gotta be healthy so I can party jking focus on school :)

i like to party.

the water in FT is fine, it’s the sinks that are screwed up. it took me 3 months to figure that out.

if you block the drain and run the water for a minute, its fine. unplug the drain and you’ll be drowning in sulfur in a matter of seconds.

side note: the smell emotionally scarred me. i only drank bottled water the entire year.
