Do you "pre-study" for your APs/honors classes?

Just wondering if you guys buy a prep or textbook and go through it during the summer so you're not totally lost when the year comes around.

Personally, I go through maybe a few weeks of material to see how I can best divide and study for the exams in the class, and to get the best grade possible. It doesn't hurt to have a little extra knowledge under your belt in time for any exams, or to brag off.

Or do you guys simply just wing it during the school year?

I don’t “wing it;” I put in the work throughout the year. Aside from any summer assignments that may have been given, I do no prep beforehand.

I didn’t prepare beforehand for AP classes, but it does help to be familiar with all prerequisite topics.

No

it’s not winging it; it’s doing what you are expected to do

I’ve went into Calculus AB/BC ahead of time for the sake of math competitions and my own interests, if that counts.
Otherwise, no

No???Pretty sure there are definitely better things to do with your time than studying for a course that for all intents and purposes you’re not even in yet. I would most certainly not call it “winging it”.

I had some plans this summer to look at stuff for AP Chemistry ahead of time, so I wouldn’t do so badly in what’s considered the hardest class at my school. Totally didn’t happen. But, that doesn’t mean I’m going to be “winging it” during school. I’ll put in the time during the year to do well.

I would NOT stress myself out with AP work during the summer. I don’t “wing it” during school either though. I make myself a schedule and do the work accordingly. It’s that simple. I think most people over estimate AP classes.
