Best way to prepare for AP classes?

I will be taking the following AP courses next year (senior):
• AP Lit
• AP Bio
• AP Calculus

I've taking only APUSH this year (and I think I'll score only a 3 on the exam).

even with only one AP class this year and going to a bottom 5% school, I still feel a little stressed from school... so next year seems like hell for me, so I feel I should get ready for the AP classes during the summer.
Is it advisable to study AP test prep books before even taking the class itself?

I'm also taking a 6 week college credit course in Berkeley on Greek Mythology, anyway I should prepare for that?

Thanks guys.

I studied AP calculus over the summer and I love math…I worked problems up to the day of the exam this year (not reteaching) and I think I bombed it. For AP Calc, work over the summer may help a bit, but don’t rely on it.

AP Biology, yes, read over the summer. Buy Cliffs Notes…I’m taking practice exams now scoring 99.5% b/c of my love of biology AND what I remember that I read last summer.

AP Lit, just read the classics! Really easy exam this year, though.

I would suggest writing like one AP Lit essay this summer for practice off of AP Central, and handing it to your teacher in the fall, so you have a starting point.
