Do you really think "that no news is good news"?????

I sent in my application and transcripts the middle of October. I know that I'm in the middle 50% and that we may not hear until January....so I'm trying to be patient. But, I'll be really bummed if after all this waiting and hoping, I get a rejection letter in February. Wouldn't admissions know by now if they wanted to reject me? Just for the record, here are my stats (condensed version):

oooppps

3.45 UW (my school doesn't weight --although, I've had 8 honors and 2 AP courses, so it'd probably be a 3.7 - 3.9)
1180/1600 , 1760/2400
Varsity tennis all 4 years and am Captain
Track
Sailing
Honor roll every year
Spanish Award

Any opinions would be appreciated at this point..........thanks everyone!

we may not hear until january?!?! are you serious....aww

With the exception of myself and a few in my school, everyone already received their rejection letters to UP. It may be good news, but you can't count on it.

yeah we've heard of some people getting rejected on here recently so
and we'll never be completely out of the woods.
i don't know..i do think that to an extent no news is good news..but it doesn't just erase our chances of getting rejected. it'd suck to get rejected in february though after all that waiting. i'd be crushed

I had to call the admissions office yesterday for something...they told me that if everything was in by the Nov. 30th deadline, you will get a decision no later than January 31st. The person told me that some people may be hearing decisions now, but there is no rhyme or reason to the way decisions are sent out. Take it for what it's worth. They are also closed for a few days over the holidays so don't bother checking then.

still when you applied in august, like me, january 31st is a longgg time to wait haha

I had pretty average stats... a 3.4 and an 1840/2400 SAT, so hopefully they're moving onto those in the middle of the applicant pool soon.

1840 is really good though. so you were accepted to UP sugarpop?
