???Do you study for SAT everyday????

Do you?
then how many hours per day?
any SAT study tip for junior who is trying to start studying SAT1 ??

I studied every day for the first half of the summer, but I found that the return on investment for studying each day decreases with time. These days I take a practice tests every so often (once every couple weeks, if I have some time to kill).

Hells yah I study, every day! I'm ready to chew up and spit that October SAT out!

Hell no I didn't study everyday... PSATs I did really bad in CR(610) so day before SATs I took off school and studied CR in an SAT book all day and got a 750. I did the same thing for math when I retook it and got a 750 as well. I could never ever force myself to study everyday.

nice responses guys, now any normal people out there?

i study about three-fourish hours a week, usually on the weekend.

some weeks i dont study at all though.

my dd signed up at www.collegeboard.com, and gets a question via email every day. She does it each morning, before breakfast. She's a junior, and has been doing this for about a year.

^the CB question of the day is far too easy.
And yeah, I've been studying every day since summer. Having devoted so much time on the SAT, I fell in love with it. No, seriously, with score improvement it can be fun, especially reading these exceedingly far-fetched wrong answers on the CR section which could only have been created by morons. At times I have to laugh out loud.

Me too! I have studied so much now, that I actually am starting to see like a game.

Haha...no.

I did for a few weeks in summer, and then I stopped. Now that I realize how close the SAT is, I've been doing parts of practice tests. I'm tired of prep books. I should study writing some more, though.

I studied for about 3 weeks during the summer, mostly just taking a few practice tests. I tried to convince myself to study for the SAT, but failed miserably, and now everything else (schoolwork, ECs, etc) has taken over and I haven't thought about it for a while. I probably do need some extra practice with writing, especially responding to overly general prompts cogently in 25 minutes, but I can't convince myself to study for more than about an hour once a week, if that.

Question: is the math in the blue book easier than the actual test? I find that I can consistently get 800 on the math practice tests, within the allotted time, as long as I work carefully and don't use a calculator as a crutch. Can I assume I'll be pretty prepared for the math on the real thing (obviously I'm not going to assume 800, but at least 750+ or so?)

Math... I find hard to study..I just take practice tests and the ones I miss I look up how to do
Vocab.... i try to study but its so boring
Grammar-I don't need to study for this one
Critical Reading- I dont think you can study... i just think it coems natural...any tips on how to improve would be helpful t ho

definitely NOT. I take a crapload of tests a week before the actual exam. My studying mostly takes place during my english/math classes.

You can study for CR. I have German Leistungskurs (advanced course) and we analyze all sorts of text all the time; and I can say I am one of the top students of this course and have been displaying a certain talent in terms of language since I was little.

However, I constantly scored bad on the CR section for several months and was puzzled. Then I realized I didn't approach the section the proper way. By now I score way better.

You can score better. Just need to find the proper approach.

i love how i haven't studied for the Octobebr SAT at ALL...
this thread makes me feel incredibly guilty.

I started practicing for the SAT's during my sophomore year(I'm a senior now). I had the time to take things slowly. I did study regularly, maybe not every day but several times per week. At most I would do 2 sections of a practice test. ( each section is about 25 minutes) Usually I would only spend about 30 minutes per day studying and it wasn't so bad. I ended up getting 2360 on the january 2006 test.

Yes. EVERY SINGLE DAY for the past 3 months.

I am taking the march one, but I am studying like crazy for the PSAT since I haven't taken any yet
