haha, i had 3.38 1860 SAT's like 3 AP classes, Varsity Captain for Tennis and some ec, and i got in...BUT, UW really looks at what high school you came from...i know people with ALOT better credentials that got rejected...so yea...

i got in with a 3.83/1920 and i have a lot of ec's/volunteer, etc. I think you have a good chance of getting in because they're not just looking at scores/gpa this year- its holistic which means they'll pay attention to what you've accomplished during school. That gives everyone with slightly lower gpa's and sat scores who might not have made the index cut if they were using the same system as last year a better chance to get in. good luck!

That sucks for me. I think I can make the index cutoff for next year, but I lack leadership/EC's. My essay is going to suck as well. I have accomplished nothing. Too bad. It's so not fair!!! They can't even wait 2 more years to change to the new system?!?!

dude, killer, you're worrying too much. if you really want to go to UW, then just try and get the best grades you can and do your best on the SAT. writing a good essay is not that hard, not to mention you have over 6 months until you can even apply. QUIT TRIPPIN!

haha pdouble is speaking the truth!

input*... i'm not usually one to correct, but i just figured that you're so far above average, you must have forgotten the basics.

killer - you need to tone it down a little, you're going to give yourself an ulcer. you have plenty of time to worry next year when you have to wait 4 months to hear back from UW. in the meantime, go volunteer at a hospital or nursing home. don't complain about how you don't have any leadership stuff and blah blah blah, call an agency and get out there and do something about it. even if the experience is horrible at least you'll know you didn't spend hours on this board worrying about next year.

yeah i actually started volunteering the summer after my junior year and i got into UW. I have horrible stats, UW is no Harvard, okay? chill.
