Do you think I can get into Fordham?

Hey all I was wondering what my chances are for getting into Fordham, if any!
I love the school and would really like to go there.

Heres the thing! my freshman year I didn’t really do well, had some problems on the home front, ended with a 3.0… wasn’t so happy. (I was an Undeclared major at the time fyi)

I declared as a Bioscience major and got a 3.92 my sophomore fall semester, and plan on getting a 4.0 this semester as well… (Taking heavy Biology and Chemistry courses)
So current cumulative gap- 3.4
Science GPA-3.55
Projected as of spring 2015 end- 3.54-3.6

Extracurriculars:
-Eagle Scout
-AFAA certified Personal Trainer
-Hospital Volunteer
-Competitive Powerlifter
-Highschool Football/Baseball
ect…

soo… What do you think my chances will be? Do you think they will take into account my spring semester grades(the ones to come) and does my previous semester hold a lot of weight???

Thank you!

Are you currently in college - if so, CC or 4-year?
Can your parents afford Fordham (if you’re a transfer, you wouldn’t get much if any institutional aid).

You can definitely get in to Fordham. You are probably right on their average student there. I say a perfect match. When considering Fordham, for a lot of people the biggest question would be fit rather than can they get in. Fordham is a Jesuit school, so lots of serious Catholics go there. Nothing wrong with that of course, but if you aren’t Catholic, you MIGHT feel left out a little bit. If that’s not a concern, then full steam ahead! Very nice school in New York City, and of course that appeals to some people. Good luck!

Be aware that even as a science major, you’ll have a 17-course core including philosophy and theology. Excellent for your intellectual training, but can come as a shock to students who didn’t really check out graduation requirements.
My caveat would be that if you’re at a NYC community college, they’d likely want more than a 3.4, but if you’re taking hard science classes it may even out.

Thank you all so much! yes i am a science major I understand the difficulty level of classes. Thanks for the info!
