I'm going to be a sophomore and I kinda want to take a AP class (just to see what I'm heading for in Junior year).

But should take AP Physics? Is it hard? Does it require a lot of thinking and remembering?

Any help will help. Thanks

Do you feel like you would be good at physics? Take a look at a physics review book and see if you can do it. If you feel good about it , then do it. We had a sophomore in our class, she was very good at the type of thinking physics involved.

But if you want it easier, then see if there are other AP class options that are safer like AP Psych or AP World. (AP World at my school is generally the only AP sophomores take).

Oh gosh, that’s why I am planning to take AP Physics. For a more-in depth learning of Physics.
Our school doesn’t offer any AP for sophomores, except Physics…

Yeah I’m a senior and I’m wondering the same thing. Maybe you should leave it for senior or junior year because it usually involves higher level math. Try taking an AP class online or a community college class if u want ur schedule to look more rigorous sophomore year. But if you feel like you’ll succeed in the course, then by all means, go for it.

Well next year I’m taking precalc… So I thought maybe I’m high enough. I got a 100 in Algebra 2

I’m guessing this is Physics B we are talking about? (I certainly hope so if you will be in Precal!)

@OtherWindow: Yes we are Physics B. :D

So do you think I should? School starts in less than 2 weeks. SO I wanna change before the start of a new school year D:

I mean, if you think that you can handle it, go for it! I think Pre-Calc concurrently with Physics B would be perfectly fine. And if you like Physics, then power to you!

[Khan Academy](<a href=“Khan Academy | Free Online Courses, Lessons & Practice”>Khan Academy | Free Online Courses, Lessons & Practice)

Watch a couple of these and see if they interest you at all. A lot aren’t good representations of what is required of Physics B. If you can’t pick, just go with the 3 ones about Newton’s laws, I suppose.

Great! I think I might… Since it’s for a 11-12th grade class… But Precalc is a 12th grade class so i really don’t give a crap xD

^ Khan Academy is A.W.S.O.M.E

I wish Sal gets a $100,000,000 prize for his work.

I have a khan’s account and I love it too!

I actually plan to take AP compsci because of it XD

^^Completely Agree.

Bill Gates is sponsoring him I think, no?

^ and ^^

Bill Gates is sponsoring him and paying him, but 500,000-1,000,000 dollars in gift isn’t enough for what he has done! But Bill Gates has my praise for being generous.

I have a Khan Academy account and I love it as well. I like the system and the program he developed.

I think it’s time well spent. Unlike most sites, it doesnt cost to learn…

Khan. Academy. Is. The. BEST!

Hey do you think if I took all of the lessons in Khan, what is a “predicted” AP score?

Like for computer sci, I learned all of their lessons, what score will I get on the AP CompSci?

Khan Academies lessons teaches many subjects in AP Physics. However, add in your school classes, and some other self-studying. There is no reason why you can’t get a 5. However I don’t recommend AP Physics, Sophomore year. Take a easier AP.

I can’t… I plan to self study compsci.

But maybe I can take AP Chemistry…
Idk
Is that easier?
Lol I’ll probably take both. So I can actually have some homework…

Physics is more mathematical, and can include very complicated math. So if you’re not good with math, I suggest taking AP Chemistry first.
