I’m starting my senior year of high school and I’m nervous about whether I’ll get into my dream school, which is SDSU. I also like CSUF and CSULB. I’m not completely sure of my weighted CSU and UC gpa at the end of my junior year, but it was 3.4 at the end of my sophomore year and i had a 3.8 gpa at the end of my first and second semester of junior year. I have 100+ hours of community service right now and should have about 200 hours by the time i graduate. I was also on the swim team for 2 years and got an ACT score of 26. I live in SoCal but not exactly in the SD area, i live in LA so i’m about 2 hours away from SDSU and 1 hour away from CSUF and CSULB. I am also a first-generation college student if that helps and i plan on majoring in criminal justice. Thanks!
All the Cal states except SLO use the eligibility index to rank applicants by major.
(CSU GPA x200) + (ACT comp x10). Based on your stats, your EI is 940. An EI of 1000+ will make you competitive for SDSU but no reason not to apply.
CSULB and CSUF are within your range, so much better odds. Apply to wide range of schools and hope for the best. Make sure you have a good safety school (local CSU) on your list along with several other matches.
Without a concrete CSU GPA we are just guessing. With a 3.8 you are probably in - with a 3.4, definitely not.
