I'm a senior in high school and have been thinking of going to Queens College in NY.
I just started my application, and it gave my an option to either select "Regular Freshman Application" or "Macaulay Honors College". I think it'd be great if I get into a Macaulay Honors College, but I don't think I really have a chance. I don't know much about Macaulay colleges, either.
My grades:
My average is almost an 89.
My SAT score is a 1540.
I haven't taken any AP courses in high school, but I'm taking Honors English this year.
I'm in Arista Honors Society and have done some community service.

I hear people with 1500/1600 SAT scores and 90+ averages get accepted. I'm hoping to raise my GPA a few points this year.

A friend of mine said that all the grades you get in senior year don't count towards applications. So I'm a bit confused about that, too. I thought that the first term grades in senior year are still shown in your high school transcript. The second term grades don't really matter because your application and decision are already made by then.

Also, if I don't get accepted into a Macaulay Honors College, can I still get into a regular CUNY college? Or do I have to apply for that separately?

Thanks!
