Do you think NYU Steinhardt is a better choice then Columbia School of gen. studies?

hello, I just found out that, Columbia school of general studies is a Liberal arts college under columbia university.

So do you think its that credible or prestigious? Or NYU Steinhardt is more credible and prestigious?

please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Bumping this up… really need to know… :)

I thought you already committed to Columbia. At least, that’s what you said on your other thread.

And a fyi: you usually don’t “bump” until your thread is moved to the second page.

They’re both pretty “credible and prestigious” I don’t know much about the Columbia General Studies program, but I know that Steinhardt is the least selective school in NYU. However, depending on what your major is, a Steinhardt degree might look better than the Columbia General Studies degree. But most of the time, Columbia looks better. Neither is a bad choice by any means though.

Soooo in terms of overall prestige, as an Ivy, Columbia gets the nod, but in terms of job placement, the difference is probably negligible.

Hey Darling, sorry about that I didnt know I couldnt bump… but you know my situation i dont have much time…

And yes I was all for Columbia till I found out Columbia School of General studies is a Liberal arts COLLEGE :(… so it looks kinda meek.

But I have spoken to someone who works at Columbia, she told me its ok and my admission wont be in trouble… So i emailed NYU again to ask for some time.

And bdl, hmm, i hear ya…
Well since i dont know much about these two schools, I dont know which one would give me more leverage…

I was thinking about doing Media and Communications at Steinhardt. Or Food and nutrition.

And for Columbia I was thinking about Comparative Literature & society, or political science, or psychology.

^^ oh and also thinking of environmental science.
