I guess this isn't a very serious thread, but seriously... do you think the Yale admission's office already knows the list of 700 or so names they are going to send the singing bulldog to? Or do you think they are just as bad as us at procrastinating? Do you think if we call, they'd let us know if we're in or out?

This question came from Stanford releasing their early action admits early, and while I know Yale is probably not going to do that, I can't help but wonder....

^^ agreed!!
Btw, since I’m too impatient/ nervous to look it up… exactly how many people applied Yale SCEA and how many spots are there for acceptance?

I don’t know if you’re all looking at this the right way. I’m sure some people were decided on two, if not three weeks ago. It’s not like they save all of the good apps to judge in the last second. Some people’s fates were sealed quite a while ago.

I think they may still be making decisions and/or reviewing some of their choices tomorrow. Otherwise, there’s literally no point in waiting until Tuesday to post decisions.

someone on the other thread said they got an email from their regional rep asking for another scan of their SAT scores. apparently this email was sent on friday, which means they’re still making decisions even right now.

even if they have already decided on probably 95% of applicants, they can’t release decisions until everything is final.

I am assuming they need a few days for administrative stuff after they make their decisions. For example, they have to accurately update everyone’s new status, right? Plus I believe that at the time decisions are announced they also provide those accepted with an initial financial aid estimate. This has to be coordinated also. I am sure that the gap between when decisions are made and when they are announced is to allow for a thorough and quality job to be done with the administrative implementation. Just my two cents.
