My math professor allows us to use a 3x5 formula card for exams, but we can't use any for quizzes

During my freshman year, I was allowed formula sheets for both of my single variable calculus courses and an upper-level statistics course; we never had quizzes however. My multivariable calculus teacher this semester only allows five formulas for each exam.

On UI proctored exams, I am permitted one sheet of notes, front and back.

At the two-bit college nearby, both classes are open-book, and last semester’s class varied from open-book to no notes depending on the professor’s mood.

I was never allowed notes but for physics and chemistry I was give a equation sheet

It all depends on the professor and class. I’ve had it range from professors that required us to memorize all formulas, constants, and “reasonable” values required for estimations in problems to completely open book/internet take-home tests.

I’ve had the latter be both the most difficult and the easiest tests I’ve taken.

Open-book exams FTW :D

I’m taking Calc III and Calc-based Physics at my community college. There are no formula sheets or open book, in-class tests. However, some tests have a take-home component, which is open book.

Interestingly, for Chem last year, there were no tests, only quizzes and a final exam. No formula sheet/notes/book allowed.
