DoDMERB blood pressure

What steps need to be taken if your blood pressure was slightly elevated at the physical?
Mine was a little over the limit of 140/90.

Can my doctor varify that my blood pressure is normal ( usually 120/70)?

or

can nothing be done?

Has this happened to anyone?

Did they take the test right or do it twice at the physical? When I went for my DoDMERB, the nurse had my sleve accidentially folded up under the the wrap for the device. This skewed the results and put me a little above the acceptable range. They took it again to make sure (this time it was taken properly) and it was no longer above the upper limit, but well within in normal range, leaning towards the lower limit.

I think that DoDMERB will ask that you can either take the test over again at a gov't facility (free) or that you can go to your doctor (at your expense).

Anyone, please correct me if I'm wrong.

You're right tuva. I had an ear infection when I took the hearing portion, and obviously fluid in your ears affects the outcome of the test. I knew I was right...so I went to a doc and had it done again and forwarded the results to DoDMERB. Anything you want to contest...just do it on your own..be proactive.

Also sometimes bp is elevated due to stress related to a physical...particularly one on which your future is partially based...so by all means get a "second opinion" from your family physician who has your lifelong medical records.

The FAQ section is helpful. You can register as an applicant and track your status online. Be proactive in following up - they slate procrastination by candidates as the number one reason for delays.
