Dodmerb Results

Firstly, Hey everyone, I am new to the forum. First time poster, but I have read the forum for a while and it has answered many of my questions without me needing to create a post.

Well, my question is that I have all my DoDMERB appointments tommorow the 18th. How soon after my exams will I find if I am qualified/dq'd. Do I know immidiately. Thanks for any input!

ERich, you won't find out that day whether you passed or not, but you can check DoDMERB's website within two weeks prior to your exam and you should be able to see if you passed or not. Good luck on your tests!

I think you mean two weeks AFTER your exam, not prior. ;)

Thanks for the input and quick responses! I was wondering how dodmerb docs were that good untill WAmom cleared things up.

Any suggestions for the physical?? All i have heard is drink water morning of, and no exercise the day before

haha thanks WAMom for clearing that up, my mistake. As for suggestions for the physical, yes drink water the morning of becuase they will make you take a urine test. As for the exercise the day before, I don't see why you can't exercise. I played a football game the night before I had mine, needless to say, I was a little banged up and had some scratches and bruises, but they overlooked it and I passed. One suggestion I do have is make sure that you are with the doctor when he is filling out the packet and make sure he fills everything in. When I had mine, the doc. forgot to check off a box that I had one of my tests done which failed me medically when DoDMERB got the paperwork. It set me back a whole month just making phone calls back and forth between places to prove that I had the test done. Again, good luck with your test.

Before your DoDMERB physical - make sure you are well hydrated. Not only because of having to "pee in the bottle" but because they will test your urine for protein.

If protein is found in your urine this will cause a remedial at the very least - you will then most likely have to do a 24 hour urine test.
The very best way to prevent this from happening is to abstain from all excercise for 48 hours before your exam (no sweating) and drink plenty of fluids.

ERich066,
My D kept good records of her application process 3 years ago and I looked up her DODMERB timeline. In her particular case she took her eye exam on July 2, and her medical and hearing exams on July 6. Her DODMERB status was posted on July 20 for the service academies. Hope that gives you some idea of a timeline.

Thanks alot everyone. Just took the all three exams yesterday and I think they went pretty well. We will see for sure in a couple weeks.
Everyone's advice was much appreciated
