Does a 17 year old need a parent signature for orientation?

I won't be 18 yet at orientation next week so do I need a parent signature there for anything? I already had a parent sign for my updated EID card so that's done. Is there anything else they need to sign?

no. just bring a license or a passport. some good form of identification. once you have sent the paper signed and notarized thats all you need. just show your identification and you will be set to get your id card for UT!

that is correct…my D’s friend is only 17 and she did have to have her parent meet her over at the ID desk to sign for her…but if you have already done that, then you should not need them to sign for anything eles.

Hi nunya, is this for freshman only? I am only 17 too but I am a transfer student. I don’t recall receving any EID card for my parents to sign. I will attend next Monday’s transfer orientation.

SWTCAT, does this mean one of my parents has to go with me to the tranfer orientation to sign for me? There is no parent orientation for transfer students.

plnlin, If you are 17 you need a parent to sign

Can my uncle sign?

No, a parent (or legal guardian) must sign if you’re under 18. However, you can upgrade at other UT system schools or even mail in a notarized form: [Upgrading Your UT EID - ID Center](http://www.utexas.edu/its/help/id-center/208)

Thank you so much. I’ve printed the notary form. I’m so glad to find out before I leave. You all are great!!

Good deal. Thanks.
