<p>I'm not sure what Harvard wants you to miss but Princeton either wants a 2300+ or a 93rd percentile, it would suck if you wanted to apply there and got a 2100.</p>
<p>I don't think the admissions officers means that they have a quota to reject 50% of those who applied who received a 2400. It's more so that after they've gone through deciding who to accept, what ended up was that 50% number. It's not, if p then q, but rather, if q then p.</p>
