Does a Minor make a grad school app look any better?

I've browsed around on the forums and couldn't really find any answers. I'm an English major intending to go into a top PhD program (hopefully) straight after my UG at Berkeley. I'm torn between doing a minor in Linguistics or using those extra credits to learn Latin instead. If I go the Latin route I'll only have the one major to claim, but if having/not having an official minor doesn't make that much of a difference to grad schools I think it would be more fulfilling. Any thoughts?

(p.s. I know most of you are science people so please try to refrain from "get a real major" comments thanks :P)

Mainly if it somehow supports your intended graduate school major, such as adding a statistics minor to an economics/math double major for economics graduate school. Otherwise, it is unlikely that they will care.

Check PhD programs in English to see if a foreign language like Latin and/or study in linguistics would be helpful.
