I'm on the border for one school GPA wise(Making it a high reach instead of a reach), but I recently found out that an uncle that I am fairly close to went to Pomona. He went when the graduating class was very small and he has a relationship with a few professors that are still there. Would mentioning this improve my chances at all?

I think they ask for all relations, so although he’s not a parent, they will still consider it.

How about your dad’s half-brother’s son’s half-brothers?

People thought that I was kidding :(.

I think the level of influence it would have will be directly related to the amount of time and/or money that your uncle has given to the school since he has graduated. If he has given a significant amount it could help you, if not, I don’t think it will.
