I just read a little bit of GRUBERS SAT 2400 which is supposed to discuss advanced strategies for advanced test takers. What I found was a bunch of beginner strategies like process of elimination, guessing techniques, and grammar rules not applicable to the SAT. Additionally, the books constantly praises itself in an annoying fashion. "Dr. Grubers method is the only method usable and it has the only practice tests similar to the SAT." I understand self praise is common to these prep books but Grubers praised itself in excess. Also, the books questions were NOTHING like the real thing. The writing questions tested over things the college board never includes and over the top explanations were used to explain math problems, rather than explaining how to achieve the answer the simplest way possible. I was pretty disappointed with Grubers. What so you guys think?

I wasn’t a huge fan of Grubers either. Princeton Review is so much better. I use PR to prepare for the SAT and the ACT. I also used it to prepare for the AP World History exam. Don’t waste your money on Grubers. It’s big and bulky but don’t let that fool you.

Eh, the only real way to practice is by learning English grammar rules and taking actual old tests.

If you want a good vocab book, I’d suggest Direct Hits. That’s where I’m studying from. Along with all the vocab I have to study for my Princeton Review SAT Prep class. -_-
