I don't know anyone who's actually tried it before. What's so bad about it?

It's the quality of the book. It's obvious that it sucks!
And i was wondering, is it just me??

Simple answer would just be return it.

I got it for free from a friend of mine, I was just wondering if it's worth the trouble of studying from..

the vocab list is really big. the quizzes are very convenient.

it's not a bad book... i used it some.

The practice tests aren't too bad and the writing review is good, but the math review is HUGE and overwhelming as well as the vocab. The vocab isn't split into good categories either like in Barrons. To sum it up, if you wnet through the WHOLE thing you would have a great chance for a 2300+ depending on where you're at, but it is just too much to go through.

Thanks a lot you guys!

Gruber's actually has good and challenging Math questions. I would recommend the book solely for that. The roots/prefixes/suffixes list is good, but the vocabulary list is overwhelming. The Critical Reading sections in the practice tests are TERRIBLE -- do not use them! The Writing sections are a bit strange, but they are challenging and diverse enough that they will probably boost your Writing score.

Yes, that's what I have been having inhibitions for-the CR section. It looked horrendous and so irrelevant to the real SATs.
