If so, why?

I’m not in college yet but:

Highschool is free
Highschool (unless you took all AP classes, then I don’t know) is easier (not always better, but may be)
Depending on your situation, you likely have financial support from your parents in highschool, but may not in college
Your highschool likely has a large group of people of your class, race, and religion (people like to settle where others like them do). College may not.

Those are just a few reasons why someone would like highschool more than college.

Call me crazy, but I had more fun at high school parties than I do at most college parties. The risk was a big turn-on in high school.

Some aspects of HS I liked better. Not having to do laundry or cooking or much cleaning, little to no homework = alot more free time, not having to worry about finances.

high school sucked

^werd to that

I honestly doubt anyone who has been at college for longer than 1 year would prefer high school.

College is one big continous slumber-party with hot coeds practically living with you. Alcohol is copious and easily attainable. You spend at least half the time in class as high school. Difficulty of work is about the same; but instead of dink assignments every f’ing night like in h.s., you basically don’t have to do anything until hell week midterms/ finals.

College FTW.

Does anybody like high school better than college? Perhaps. But imo, they are crazy. Certain aspects of high school are better (i.e. not having to pay for stuff, having mommy and daddy cook food for you instead of eating dumpy cafeteria food all the time, easier work/homework etc) but overall high school is completely incomparable to college.

College has:
-No stringent rules about being late…no detentions or suspensions for doing stupid stuff like cutting classes
-coed dorms. Living with hundreds of kids your own age? Awesome. No bedtimes. No curfews.
-freedom to do whatever you want…you can manage your time how you please (and you have a LOTTTTT of free time, even if you work)
-You don’t join clubs to look good on your resume anymore, you join clubs because you like what the club does…
-parties/the easiest access to alcohol

And I could go on…and on…and on…

I probably had more freedom in high school that most people. Sometimes, college can get dull and repetitive. Everything is centered around campus and it can tend to be insular.

Senior year of high school can be pretty hard to beat when you have your set of friends well established, and are just wanting to have a ton of fun because you know it will be your last year all together. Especially once you have all your college applications in, with all the skipping that leads to more fun during the day.

But I’m not one of those people who are like…this part of your life is miserable, college will be the best years of your life, etc.

I just enjoy each time of my life equally. No reason why one had to be better than the other.

High school completely sucked for me, in fact, I hated being under 18. I had to deal with my parents in high school which ruined most of my development so I’m very excited now to be far away from them and maturing as a person.

Also, I was really shy and awkward in high school. Now I’ve been a little more confident and have more opportunities to experience different activities.

“Also, I was really shy and awkward in high school. Now I’ve been a little more confident and have more opportunities to experience different activities.”

^^Hope this happens to me too :o. High school is meh. Thank god I only have two months left.

Although I had a good experience in high school, the personal freedom in college is amazing. I love it all.

The only people that I know who loved high school more than college are the ones who commuted and didn’t have a proper college experience.

Me.

Although that’s probably why I’m applying to transfer.

College is free for many people, and high school is not free lol, your parents pay through taxes (but I know what you’re getting at so fair enough).

Obviously, but you also have to take classes you don’t like and be in the same building for 7-8 hours everyday.

Get a job…?

Uh…what? That couldn’t be further from the truth. There are hundreds of people of every imaginable “group” at college.

the point-by-point rebuttal was unnecessary.

Yeah but your screenname wins.

Well…

My parents would still have to pay taxes, so going to high school and not going costs the same.

You didn’t really rebut this statement.

A job isn’t financial support from your parents. Sure there are ways to make money, I wasn’t saying there aren’t, but in highschool food and rent are paid for by your parents, and they may not be in college.

I’m not going to argue about this one, since I’m not actually in college yet, but I truely can’t see that.

I’m not sure what major you are, but that sure isn’t the definition of everyone’s college life. I wish I could just **** around all of the time.
