Especially for newbies, such as myself? There seems to be so many intelligent brains in here... so I find myself trying to type more intelligently than I would in other places, or at least trying not to make grammar mistakes. I just found myself being more cautious about things I posted in general.

I still love lurking around here though. There are some really interesting and informative posts :) whoooo.

I’ve been pretty active on internet forums since I was 11 or 12 (I’m 19 now…) so I’ve had plenty of experience with typing before coming here. Plus Opera has this red underline for misspelled words.

But CC does not represent most of the students in the USA. People go on the Chances forum and think they have absolutely no chance at the Ivy League or Stanford, MIT, etc, etc because they have a low SAT score or something. Give it a try, write a good essay, like honestly, CCer’s stats are outrageous.

I haven’t even tried the chances forum. Sophomore is a bit too early right? Plus… I have looked at some of the ivy league stats and they are indeed very scary D:

One day I will go on the chances forum though…

Yeah to some, but I only type well when i feel the need to tell someone something so people won’t try to divert the argument with my ‘grammatical errors’.

It can be both intimidating and motivating at the same time, because it shows you might need to take that extra step.

But all in all, grades is just one way to succeed in this world. I find that most people don’t intentionally throw grades in people face but when it does happen, i just argue it out with them as to why their not so great and win.

^ Haha, totally agree with you. I type well to sound more mature and professional, so people won’t think i’m a noob.
And yeah it is intimidating and motivating. People are like ‘self studied this, got a 5’ or ‘got straight a’s without trying’. I don’t know if these people are lying or showing off or what, but I know that I should work even more harder now since there are some really smart people out there.
