I've been put on the waitlist for fall 2011 with a guaranteed acceptance for the spring 2012. I'm thrilled to be accepted even for the spring semester, but does anyone know how easy/hard it is to get off the waitlist? Or the statistics of how many moved from waitlist to accepted last year?

Thanks!

I didn’t know Pitt had a waitlist this year. Anyway, in general, waitlists are totally unpredictable. You cannot tell anything from last year’s numbers. Because you have been accepted for spring 2012, that is great! You can do something else in the fall semester if needed. The time will go by quickly.

I know that the waiting list for the engineering school is hard to get off of. I am not sure about the list for the overall school, but there seems to be a LOT more applicants this year than in previous year.

I agree with LurkNess though!
