I was just put on the wait list for Pitt with a guaranteed spot for the spring semester, and I was wondering what my chances are of being accepted for the fall semester.
Look at the common data set for last year http://www.ir.pitt.edu/cds/documents/CDS_2014-2015Pittsburgh.pdf
289 were admitted out of 572 who accepted a place on the waitlist.
Do you have any new information from when you applied, like first semester grades that might be in your favor?
I sent in first semester grades which is what got me on the wait list in the first place, Pitt was a pretty big reach for me so I am actually pleasantly surprised by being put on the wait list.
good luck!
Do you if there is any difference depending which school you applied to? I applied to the school of arts and science
I would think it would be easier than getting into the school of engineering.
Of course I don’t know the admission standards of the different schools, but I’ve heard people say that they got into A&S, but not engineering or business for example. At least you weren’t rejected. Did you have to officially accept your spot on the waiting list?
How did you find out you were on the wait list? Mail ? Email? hoe long after sending your mid year grades?
Got a letter in the mail about a month after sending my mid year grades.
Yeah, you can either just accept a spot on the fall wait list which is free, or you can put down a $300 deposit for the spring semester and get a spot on the fall wait list.
Thank you for the info. I wish you the best, things have a way of working themselves out.
