<p>i think in previous years its been about 1/3 for each, but i may be wrong.</p>

<p>I remember most colleges only defer a small percentage</p>
<p>Dartmouth is one school, and there are many, that defers a lot of kids. Unfortunately, a deferral needs to be treated as a rejection. Move on and take the other apps very seriously. Great if you get in, but don't count on it!</p>
<p>Dartmouth's dean of admissions said at an info session this fall that about 1/3 of applications are deferred. he also said for deferred applicants, the percent admitted RD is about the same as the percent for the entire RD pool.</p>
