Does anyone know of scholarships available for students already in college?

Scholarships for students in college are few and even harder to get. Private ones are even more difficult. And, they are very small.

You need to check with your major dept to see if any are available.

What is your situation? Are you attending a school that you can’t afford and hope that some scholarships will cover your costs??

Fastweb is the best source for scholarships I have found. Also look in your community. Sometimes the scholarships are not limited to freshmen.

The best source is your own college. Some departments have money that they give to their students that commit to that field and have shown excellence there. My son just got one for his junior year from his school. I know someone at NYU who got such an award for senior year, one at Dickinson that got something for upperclass years. However, none of them were huge amounts. Like ranging from $500-3500, and they were given to the absolute best of the bunch in the department. YOu need to talk to your financial aid office and the departments at your school where you are considering your major. My son changed his major deliberately to go for his award.
