Does anyone know when the RD decisions are released?

Do they notify students by e-mail or phone call?

Last year my daughter’s first indication that she’d been admitted to AU was a big envelope in the mail. She was offered a scholarship and a place in the Honors Program, but got no phone call.

From this, I deduce that not getting a phone call doesn’t mean much. But I know it can be dangerous to try to extrapolate from one data point.

Hello *****,

Thank you for applying to American University!

The Undergraduate Admissions office will notify students of their application decision by late March no later than the first week of April. Please remember we do not offer rolling decisions and we cannot rush decisions. Also, we cannot give decisions over the phone or through email. You will be notified by mail. Waiting is the hardest part of the application process, but we do appreciate your patience!

Best of luck!

email i received yesterday afternoon when i asked when they were releasing decisions

Thank you acciocollege!

Hello all,

I called the admissions office just this morning and asked for a definitive date for when they will be sending out acceptance letters- the kind lady told me March 20th was the day they’d be sending them.

I also asked if any email notifications would be sent out and was told that “regular mail” would be the only form of notifying applicants of their acceptance.

Best of luck to everyone!

My daughter found out by email things must have changed.

I emailed my admissions representative and he said that decisions were being released on March 20th, but he did not mention if they were being released by mail or email

Snail mail, see response 23, which presumably is an accurate e-mail response from an admissions officer to Accio

I’m getting so anxious this wait is killing me!! How many days does it usually take for mail to arrive once sent? I live in Washington state so pretty far away

I just called admissions and they said decisions are being sent out tomorrow through regular mail. Not by email…

ahhh lame. Probably will be to people by Wednesday/Thursday then!

Nervous doesn’t even begin to describe it.

Schermeg, in Washington state you would probably receive the letter this Thursday or Friday if it’s mailed from DC on Tuesday.

I have just received a FedEx email confirming the package was sent from AU. But the thing is that I’m an international student, so it might take a couple of days. Did anyone within the US receive their admission decisions?

For domestic decisions, I bet they’re using USPS, and so we won’t receive confirmation and it will probably tak 1-5 business days depending on location… I live in Oregon so I have a bit of a wait! :(

Has anyone gotten a call from their rep yet because they usually call some people and not others?

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!

I’m in NYC. When do you speculate I will receive it.

acciocollege,
No offense, but this an AU Forum. I don’t think anyone here can successfully predict when a letter sent from DC will arrive in NYC if mailed today. Maybe Wed, Thurs or Fri. Not difficult to figure out.

i’m just impatient lol
