I gonna take AP cal AB and SAT math II this year. Please share you experience!!

AP Calc will not really help you prepare for the Math 2 subject test. It is heavy on pre-calc. My D took Math 2 in May, just after taking the AP Calc test, and she had to do a good deal of review of precalc concepts and formulas.

Id just like to reinforce the above. Math level 2 only goes through precalc

I took Math II after precalc, as there is no calc on the test. Waiting a year, you may forget some of the concepts.

I took Math II after taking Calculus AB and BC, and those topics don’t really help for Math II.

Thank you guys

Calc AB made me much more nimble in my headmath and able to manipulate functions. I would say yes, but not directly by any means.

Almost all of the concepts on math II are from precalc/trigonometry. Study the barrons book and you’ll do fine

Although Calculus doesn’t directly prepare you for the SAT Math II, I found that it certainly helps. Most calculus problems involve a lot of concepts in algebra 2/pre-calculus, and having that regular practice will help you solve questions quickly. Complement the course with the Barrons book, and I think you can receive a comfortable 800.
