I know if you have 45+ credits, you're a sophomore. So do AP credits contribute to that, or are they something different altogether?

Yes. 10char

Yes, AP credits will count toward your graduation units. But class level means very little in college, so don’t expect an elevated status or anything like that.

Some people might say otherwise, AskMsSun, especially when enrollment comes around. Generally, the higher your class status is, the sooner you will be able to enroll for class.

I just came back from orientation session 101 yesterday. I have 36 units from AP Credit. However, that does sort of make me almost a sophomore, but they do me no good, or most people for the most part. They don’t take away GE requirements either. Everyone, and I mean everyone for the most part, even those who have received 5’s on AP tests has to take all their GE requirments. So it can help you graduate a little earlier, but only if you’re in a major that already has very little lower and upper GE requirments and its own departmental requirments. Your welcome :)
