I took six AP scores as of now: AP Human Geography, AP World History, AP Statistics, AP Biology, AP Art History, and AP Language however I only passed one out of those. Does that affect the admissions at all? I know it looks bad but my GPA and EC's and scores are fine. I'm just worried if the AP scores really matter or not?

don’t report them then

Let me guess, you did not do well on your AP Lang test?

Depends on the school, but in general, it does not affect admissions. You just will not get college credit for them.

The common app asks for the scores.

True, the CA just asks you to self report, official score reports are only sent to the school where you matriculate. However, why do you think they ask if it only matters for credit and placement, and not admission?

AP classes are important because they have a standard curriculum and test. AP scores are a way to determine how well a class was taught and if there is grade inflation at your HS. If your grades don’t correlate with your scores, that tells colleges something. In addition, if you don’t take the test (or don’t report) they may wonder why.

Situation-sensitive, but if you ask most colleges, they will tell you that AP scores do not matter in admission decisions. I dunno if that’s whole story, but they certainly aren’t as important as your AP teachers would like you to believe.

Bottom line: just don’t report them. They probably won’t be the reason you do or don’t get into the college of your choice.
