Does big 4 (NYC) require official transcript when you start full time?

Hello Everyone,

Does anyone know if you have to submit your official transcript when you start full time for a big 4 firm in nyc? if so, do they want the official transcript mailed directly from school to them in a sealed envelop?

someone help me out please! any information is appreciated!

I don’t know when they ask for it, but yes, they do ask for it. A friend of mine had to submit his transcript along with his resume during the interview process.

As for your latter question, I would only concern myself about that if they request it. Otherwise, unless they’re asking for it or you have an offer, I think that’s a premature question. In any case, the best bet is to ask the HR person who offered you.

thanks notaznguy! i know that candidates have to submit 'un’official transcript during the interview process for big 4 in nyc.

I received a full time offer from a big 4 in nyc and am not sure if my school is going to send my official transcript since i still owe school money…

Nice, congrats. Yeah, best to contact your HR rep and see how they want it. Good luck with work though. I hope you finish and pass your CPA before you start in Fall '13. Best to get it out of the way or your life will be miserable, especially when it’s busy season and you’ll feel dead after work and then still have to study. For my university, I wouldn’t imagine paying for a transcript would be much of an issue, even if I owed them money. Typically you just go to the school’s registrar, pay a fee upfront, and that’s it. Unless your school put a hold on your student account, I don’t see why it would be much of an issue. If there is a hold, you should probably pay off whatever it is to get the hold removed.

thanks notaznguy! hopefully it wont be an issue. but it would great if i dont have to deal with it at all.

anyone working for big 4 in nyc can provide some info?

I don’t see any difference between official and unofficial. If you think you can get away from paying the balance you owe your school, don’t do it. They can “hold” your diploma and future transcript requests if grad school is in your future. By then, you could have accumulated large amounts of fines and fees.

Hey guys-
I know there’s been a lot of hype around tf status and what It means, but did anyone else NOT apply for tf?? I didn’t apply and my tf status now says NOT STARTED in red but the link that was previously below it is gone. Does anyone know if this means anything?? I don’t have a goo feeling about it… Thanks!!
