Does cal poly pomona see 1st semester senior grades?

I've applied to cal poly Pomona as an incoming freshman, and I'm wondering if they look at my first semester senior grades before accepting/declining me. I'm hoping they do, because my first 3 years of high school gpa is a 3.1, however this year I have and plan to keep a 4.2 weighted (4.0 unweighted) gpa which should boost my overall gpa up quite a bit.
Also I applied to cal poly SLO as early decision, and the same question above applies here as well.

Cal Poly’s use only grades through junior year to make determination of admission.

what if I went to cc for 2 years, would they then factor in my senior year grades?

Can someone confirm/deny my above post, it just doesn’t make sense that only one year of community college gpa would be looked at, since I’d be applying before my 2nd year grades come out. This is why I want to know if my high school grades, especially senior grades, will be looked at as well.

It is my understanding that this year the Cal-State schools are asking to see the first semester of Senior year. While you have to apply by the end of November before the first semester grades come out decisions will not be made until after the first semester grades have been sent in.

As far as going to community college for two years and transferring the grades that were secured in community college is what will be looked at.

I hope you’re right about that, now I’m wondering if Cal Poly SLO will see my senior grades since I applied for Early Decision with them… I heard if they reject an early decision application, they put that application with all the regular decision applications, is this true?

I heard that with early decision could be acceptance, rejection, or put in with the other applications.

For freshman applicants, Cal Poly’s generally make decisons based on grades through junior year as I noted above. There is no new policy requiring submission of first semester senior grades. As in the past, the Cal Poly’s may specifically request certain applicants to submit first semester grades before a decison is made, but you do not do that unless you get that specific request.

Cal Poly SLO’s early decision program definitely does not consider senior grades – the decision is made before you ever get those grades. You can get one of three decisions, reject, admit, or defer to regular. If rejected, you are done and will not be considered for regular admission.

For transfer applicants, Cal Poly SLO does not accept transfers before transfer into junior year and for that college grades control and high school record is not a factor. Cal Pomona is the same for junior year transfers but it also accepts sophomore transfers in which case college grades, high school record (including through senior year), and SAT or ACT test score are considered, and that record must be good enough for them to conclude you would likely have qualified to have been admitted as a freshman to be considered as a transfer into sophomore year.
