does cornell look at the writing section

i know there is a list from kaplan out there that says cornell is undecided on it, but i hear some of the stuff they have on there is outdated. any comments would be great

when you look online (at least for ed) at your application, it showed your highest score from each section. To know whether they actually take all three scores equally as seriously, i dont know. Since they even have the writing score up, it shows that it may have some significance even if it is a minute one. Maybe for a tie-breaker between candidates

solid, thanks for the info

TIEBREAKER, woot.
Me = 800.

Ha, but if I had to guess... I would say they look at it, but with less emphasis then CR + M.
Idk, since writing = love, but yeah.. Whatevs.

at an info session they said they do not take it into consideration at all.
sorry....

last year's median was somewhere around a 730 or so according to the Cornell "The U" video recently posted around here...

the writing is looked at as the SAT II writing that used to be required by Cornell. It is looked at as an SAT II.

Oh, that sorta makes sense. Cornell used to require 3 SAT IIs, one of which had to be Writing. I don't believe the claim that Cornell doesn't look at Writing at all, otherwise it probably would've been included in that section on the Kaplan site.

I wish it were more important than CR - I hate CR
