does cornell really do this?

i found this on wikipedia:

"The 1970 film Love Story holds a place with Cornell students. Before each Cornell vs. Harvard hockey game, the Cornell Big Red Pep Band members traditionally watch the beginning of the movie where Cornell beats Harvard at hockey, skip the plot of the film, and cynically rejoice at the end when Jenny dies."

if so, that's hilarious

i know they throw fish on the ice in the cornell harvard game

I wouldn’t be surprised.

I was at the Cornell vs. US Under-18 National Team Exhibition match, and there was a cheering section shouted “UGLY! UGLY! UGLY!” every single time the Under-18 goalie lifted up his helmet to take a drink, etc… Horrible, but I laughed my ass off and heartily cheered along.

If our fellow peers are willing to scar teenagers for the rest of their lives, I don’t really see the harm in watching a film in such a cynical manner. Besides, life is too short to pass up chances like that.
