<p>Why would they disregard it? They look at everything sent to them. It’s not like they’re gonna see the writing section and get into a panic and jump around because they saw it when they really disregard it. Your question should be how much weight they put on it. The writing sections (such as ACT) are all pretty new and the grading has been questioned. If your test scores are strong overall, then you’ll be ok. You won’t get in or get out just because of your writing. Good luck</p>
<p>I asked this specific question to someone in Duke Admissions earlier this year…they informed me that they take the average of the writing and critical reading and add it to the math.</p>
