I accepted my spot at Duke but am getting very nervous now that IB exams are coming up. I got in with my 44 predicted and 7 in a seventh subject. What happens if I get 38-40? How important is the seventh subject (it’s not included in my diploma)?
No… Just avoid D’s and F’s in your coursework. I doubt they even care about senior year AP/IB scores unless that’s a component of your grade somehow (they care as it relates to course credit/placement, but not admission). It’s extremely rare to get an offer rescinded.
And don’t get arrested. And don’t get caught having lied on your application. Duke wants you, so it will take something extraordinary to make them rescind their offer. As noted above, unless the IB exam results form a portion of the grades on your transcript, Duke will not care about the results.
Thank you! @bluedog @skieurope
@bluedog What do you mean ‘‘unless that’s a component of your grade’’. My IB diploma is my grade. I have been a full IB Diploma candidate during high school, don’t have any other grades.
Well, in which case, your final scores will matter. However, getting a 38-40 will not get you rescinded, unless one of subject components (i.e. not the 3 extra points for TOK/EE) is a 1 or a 2.
@skieurope Oh great! Thank you!
