Because I got one and I dont know if that's good news or not.

Everyone who applies who lives in a region with an alumni interviewer is offered an interview. Some students don't have an interviewer in their region and are, therefore, not offered an interview. Do no read anything into whether or not you were offered an interview.

So i still havent gotten called for an interview and i DEFINITELY live in a place w/ a lot of alums. is this something to be concerned about

How do you know if you are living in a region with an alumni interviewer?

I'd like to slightly amend what quiltguru had to say. Just because you live in an area with alumni interviewers doesn't mean you'll get an interview. For instance, if there's only one interviewer in a 150 mile radius and that person only has time to conduct two interviews--remember, the interviewers are all volunteers--then not everyone will be offered an interview. If you live in a large city with hundreds of applicants, there may be more applicants requesting interviews than alums who have the time to interview. I'd assume most ASC directors offer interviews on a first come, first served basis and Yale doesn't process all applicants to the ASC directors at the same time.

thequaker, ASC directors are still getting names, which may explain what's going on with you. Don't be concerned if you haven't been contacted or if you are never contacted, although if you are never contacted you may want to inquire with Yale about an alumni interview. I would do that if you haven't heard anything by Feb. 10 because interview reports are due on March 1.

hairypotty--If you live in a metroplitan area or a college town, there are probably interviewers there. No way to know for certain.
