Did you self-report or actually pay to send them out?
When I applied to college, I self reported. My brother's applying now and everyone is advising him to send out his AP scores. But damn, to pay $165 for these score reports.. is it worth it?

Do they give him a reason? Is it only to back up his self reported scores? Some schools will accept AP scores as part of their standardized test requirements. Very few offer this option but some do. Such a school would require an official score report to validate the self reported scores. Otherwise, it is my understanding that you don’t need to submit an official score report until you decide where you will be going in the fall (and if you want AP credit to transfer).

Seconded. Sending your scores before acceptance (unless the college accepts AP in lieu of SAT subject tests) is a huge waste of money.

As far as using them for admissions purposes my school just put them on my transcript. They just pad your app and look nice but usually aren’t required. If they’re required then send the official, if not then self report or have the school put them on the transcript. Now if you want credit for the class I believe then you have to send the official report to the school that you have chosen
