I can’t find a straight answer.
Yes, no and maybe…
It’s based on the plan that you’ve purchased (and when).
Back when we purchased the plan, we had an option to purchase a plan for tuition, and another one for fees. We purchased a plan that covered tuition but not fees.
For a year (30 credits) that comes out to $6,381.30
Our tuition only plan would pay $105.07 per credit hour (or there about), but it wouldn’t cover the $107.64 per credit hour of fees.
Since we purchased our plan before 2007 (give or take a year), UF can’t charge us the hefty Tuition Differential Fee.
So, if we take 15 credit hours in a semester, UF would charge us $212.71 - 44.17 = 168.54 per hour for a total of $2,528.10. Our Tuition only plan would pay $105.07 X 15 credit ours = $1,576.05. Subtract that from what UF billed us and we still end up owning $952.05.
Now, if you’re plan covered “fees”, it would pay those cost and you would own nothing.
Take a close look at the plan that you have to determine what it really pays.
Good Luck!
The fees that are not covered by the “tuition plan” or the “local fees” plan are still going to be billed to everyone and these are the student government fees and they are subject to change every year. I believe they ran about $14.69 per credit hour last year.
To clarify, the local fees plan does not cover the activity and service fees , so even if you purchase a local fees plan you still will have some additional amount that will be billed to you after the Pre paid is billed. We have the local fees and tuition plan and they usually pay from the Bright futures award for those remaining fees.
