Catholicism
Also I should add that (because of family) Im very involved in Catholicism, beyond church involvement, Im a “minister” to peers, and I have been a leader on Catholic youth retreats like Kairos, Im a eucharistic minister, have been a reader/musician at church. Should I try to push this as a reason Im attracted to Georgetown? Would this be strategic?

I know Georgetown is not the most Catholic of Catholic colleges, But will their admissions people care about my involvement with Catholicism? Would it give me any advantage?

Thanks to anyone who replies! I appreciate your response

They care and will like the leadership positions you have in Kairos. But EC only go so far. They look at them, but they won’t make up for lower stats. Keep your gpa up and good luck on the SAT.

No. To clarify, Georgetown will like your involvement, as they will like all ECs. The fact that some of your ECs are with Catholic organizations will not be the determine factor in your application.

I highly doubt that Patrick Ewing’s religion came into play when he applied either as a student or as a coach.

Do they care? Probably… they love to see kids who really believe as they do and practice their faith. If you do get in, you can find a decent list of when mass and Confession are offered.

But it won’t make any difference in your application.

I teach in a Catholic school, and every kid who attends my school is Catholic. Some get in to Georgetown, some don’t.

No. They won’t care.
