Does getting my AA from a Florida CC increase my chances?

Hey guys I’ll be finishing my AA this Spring semester and plan on applying to FSU once I get finished. (Will be like a month before deadline)
I’m actually receiving my degree from a well known Florida CC and will have a 4.0 GPA in my last 42 credit hours along with Dean’s list my last semester. Weighted GPA will be above a 3.0, but not far above it. My GPA took a toll my freshman year due to medical problems. Anyone have any experience or know anyone getting in after receiving their AA? How easy is it?

As long as your major isn’t limited access you’ll be fine. I finished the app process like not too long ago so if you have any questions you can shoot me a message. I would go ahead and apply now. As long as you have a 3.0, and due to finish your degree before orientation your good.

My major is actually going to be Limited access, Economics. There minimum GPA requirement is a 2.5 and I’ll have all the reqs in order to apply. The thing is, is that I won’t have my GPA above a 3.0 until after the semester hits. I’m currently in 6 classes and lowest grade is a 96 so I know I’ll have all As. My school just doesn’t provide a mid term report or anything so I don’t know what to do about that. Why do you think it’s so important to apply now instead of a month from now even if they’ll be both before deadlines?

@Mevans6 As you know, the earlier you apply the better orientation date you get. I applied way back in December, and due to transfer hiccups I wasn’t accepted until like Feb… I chose the earliest orientation date they had left which was like July 21st? Which is still a little late in my opinion…

With your major being limited access, the longer you wait more people are getting admitted and seats are being filled. It’s always best to apply early, that way if your app isn’t as strong there are still plenty of seats, and they are more likely to consider you.

I ended up applying and sent my transcripts. After talking to three different admission officers, they all told me if I were to get rejected I could just reapply when my final grades come in. I seems to me like FSU is pretty leniant towards Florida AA applicants. I also have a 10/10 letter of reccomendation from my Economics professor if I need to appeal. Thanks! @treeyb
