does it look funny if i take Chinese test even if i am Chinese?

i was born in chia, and i came here 4 years ago. i am planing to take Chinese and MathII in this november.

even if i get 800 on Chinese subject test, does it look good? i am kind of worried - -0. should i change Chinese to another subject???

If you lived in China for 10+ years and you manage to score anything but a 800, that would really look bad.

I suggest you take something else.

but what if i get 800?

Take the Chinese subject test. You can take up to 3 in a day - go ahead and take a 3rd if you want to.

But take the Chinese test. It is impressive. Not everyone who can speak Chinese can get an 800 on the test. If you can, great - show them!

but i already lived in china for 10+ years..

If you've lived in China for 10+ years, you would be able to get an 800 pretty easily.
If I were you, I'd take the Chinese SAT as well as take 3 others (or 2 or how many your universities recommend).

Don't bother taking it. If you lived in China for 10+ years, you're assumed to be fluent. The SAT Chinese (probably the equivalent of a 3rd grade achievement test in China) won't prove anything.

800 in Chinese is pretty useless since 800 is only 60 percentile or so. AP Chinese would probably be a lot more impressive.

but honestly,ap chinese is actually really easy, only the listening is a '' little little'' harder.... getting a 5 is as easy as getting an 800 on sat II.

jamesford is probably right...

haha, i can whole-heartedly state that for a native speaker an AP Chinese 5 is prolly easier than an SAT 800. Last year, there was an increase in 5s on the chinese test, from 80% to 85%, and i just took it and even though my chinese isnt that good that test was very very fun.

its not allowed to take the language test in your native language haha
