Would it make sense to take Psychology at a community college if you have already passed the AP exam with a 5 for UCLA? I'm not sure if they give the same credits..
And also on this website I heard that UCLA prefers me to take stats or something? Do they mean at High School or at the community college? Thanks!

i like your username. sorry i don’t have anything constructive to add :(

If you’re planning on majoring in Psychology, Statistics is a class that is correlated with it (especially if you’re considering starting research later on), so it would be slightly preferred if you take it (doesn’t matter where). If you’re not planning on majoring in Psych, Calculus is usually considered a ‘stronger’ math option.
Quoted from [UCLA’s site](http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/Prospect/APCreditLS.htm): “AP examinations, IB examinations, and college courses taken prior to or after enrolling at UCLA may be duplicative. In these cases we will award credit for only one.” So to answer your question, I think AP courses are given the same credit as community colleges, at least in this case.

I would find a class that your community college offers that your high school doesn’t (such as philosophy/sociology/anthropology or another subject you’re interested in) and take that instead.

Well it doesn’t make sense to take it at a community college if you got a 5 on the exam. But if you plan to study, you might wanna go into it. But at least with a 5, you get basic psychology out of the way and you may be able take courses that go into specific subjects in psychology.
