I’m applying EA to Miami University and the deadline is Dec.1. Does it increase my chances of admission to submit my application now or take a little more time to make sure everything is as best as I can make it it and submit it around 5 days before the deadline?
I can’t confirm that if you apply earlier, it helps your chances. However, you want to show intent. Have you made an official visit?
Just be very careful with your high school deadlines.
School college placement offices are BOMBARDED right now. You want to ensure that you give your guidance counselor sufficient time to handle her end of the process in time for the deadline.
My school’s deadline for ALL college apps-- not just EA, but ALL-- is today. That gives the counselors the time they need to process 8-10 apps (sometimes more) for any of the 600 seniors who have not already applied EA or ED.
Seriously, how much additional time do you need to “make sure everything is as best as you can make it”?? Haven’t you been working on this EA app for ages? Isn’t it pretty much in the form you’re going to send? How many changes are you going to make in the next few days?
OK, I just realized that this thread is 3 weeks old. Hopefully you submitted your app a day or so after starting it.
