Does joining KLLC mean you have to live in a double?

Hi. I am an international student and I know this sounds kind of strange, but I would actually much prefer to live by myself (for a year at least) very strongly. Not that I haven't lived with a roommate before (I shared a room with 2 people during high school for about 2 years), it's just I have been in the army for the past year and shared a room with 16 people, so I am just kind of sick of the idea of having roommates and just want some "alone" space (plus, I am actually older than most normal freshmen). But I am also planning on applying to get into KLLC since I am a pre-bus major and would like to apply to Kelley eventually, so I thought being in a community that shares my common interest would help me achieve my goal.

However, I read on the KLLC page that it listed double rooms, so does that mean we have to live with a roommate and can't get a single room? I know McNutt has single rooms, so I thought the dorm fits my criteria very much.

PS. Is getting into KLLC the only way for a freshmen to ensure that he will get assigned into McNutt?

I asked my daughter, a current KLLC resident, about singles. She said there are a couple of singles on each KLLC floor, but she thinks the students living in the singles didn’t actually request singles, they were randomly assigned to them. This doesn’t make sense to me, and I’m not sure it is accurate. I think your best bet is to contact IU RPS to ask if there are officially singles available in the KLLC. Contact info can be found at [IU:RPS - Contacting RPS](http://www.rps.indiana.edu/contactus.cfml)

My daughter says they will be increasing the size of the KLLC next year, so even more students will be able to take advantage of this wonderful living-learning community.
