Does joining the learning community worth it?

Does it worth it? why or why not?

I think it’s worth it for the guaranteed classes, and because you stick with the same people throughout the year.

I guess it depends what college you’re in. -_-

As a pre-business student… I don’t think the guaranteed classes are worth it at all. I went through my whole year getting almost every class I needed/wanted…

They also sort of set your schedule for you, so if class is at 8AM then you HAVE to take the 8AM class.

I mean… if you learn well in groups, then I guess it could be a plus for you. I learn better on my own… so yeah.

i was in the cnas lc i recommend it for people who don’t have enough ap credits or college credits to be at sophomore standing.

I came in at sophomore standing and could’ve gotten the classes i wanted and at the times i wanted. So i didn’t have to join the lc and take the stupid SI sessions. I had this one horrible SI leader his name is eric chu… he was condescending and obviously couldn’t teach very well.

For the people who wanna join for the research opportunity my advice is to look for a professor winter quarter. When the application came out to do the summer research i was hella scrambling around campus looking for a professor that will let me in their lab… maybe cus i wanted stem cell research and a lot of them told it takes a long time to train so to get that training and find something for me to research over the summer would be pretty difficult.

If you’re in BCOE, 100% do it!
It is very helpful, you can meet great people, and the classes help because they put you in the classes you need. only drawback is sometimes they give you the worst times.

i was in cnas and def worth it. good to have a whole bunch of friends in your classes.
