@tenh20 I think davis is better.

Cal poly reminded me too much of a glorified high school. I like Davis because it feels like college. I don’t worry about people stealing things, and things that get lost often get returned. Other than your bike of course. Watch that thing like a hawk. Overall it just feels really friendly.

Academically if you’re looking for something fairly well rounded, I’d go with Davis. If you’re looking for a really concentration, maybe cp. I say this because I feel like davis offers a lot of things that aren’t strictly what we’re known for (hard sciences). For example I really enjoy the language program here and think it’s challenging yet rewarding. Cal poly’s language program on the other hand is majorly lacking, though anyone knows their engineering and business is great.

I thought Cal Poly has a real high ranking

[Cal Poly is Best in the West for the 17th Year in U.S. News Rankings](http://www.calpolynews.calpoly.edu/news_releases/2009/August/US_News_2010.html)

Just curious what makes you feel Cal Poly reminds you of a high school?

Is that the impression you got when you visited the campus?

picking between davis and slo would be a really tough choice for me. i really like davis and its been a top choice of mine all through high school, but slo may be a better choice cuz i got into their business program…love the atmosphere of each campus.

@deekku, yea it was. I’ve been on campus 4 or 5 times and some of my best friends go there. The atmosphere when I spent a couple days there just seemed highschool for me. Also It seems like a lot of the classes are in small room setting rather than the stereotypical huge lecture halls.

Not like that small group settings are a bad thing. Or the concept of high school either. I think CP is a great school, I just like being in Davis

lol this thread has over 25k views

I’m a junior in Davis now and I actually got into the Business program at SLO 3 years ago and chose Davis over SLO. Unless you’re an engineering major or an architecture major, I’d choose Davis over SLO. My brother actually goes to SLO and he likes it there, but they’re pretty hardcore for engineers. Davis is a little more chill and has a very nice campus in a college town.

haha i like how this thread went from kevjumba to opinions on davis campus

lol that’s so funny. kev jumba’s in davis.

I heard about Davis and was like mehh… ok, sure, I’m a bio major applied then i went to the actual campus on the preview day and i absolutely fell in love with it, its my #1 choice…i really hope i get in!!

My parents actually won’t let me apply to Davis because of the pepper spray incident.

^ well that’s just stupid. they do realize that the kids who got pepper sprayed were warned and were assembling “illegally” (according to the cops) right? that they were protesting? they don’t just pepper spray anyone, lol.

jesus christ what a bump

Anyone that says DC food Sucks really needs a reality check. As a Parent I have been to the UC Davis DC many times and the worst food there is far better than any food I have eaten at a DC in any of the East Coast Schools.
